Elk seizoen wordt een stand of klassement opgemaakt in La Liga, waarin wordt weergegeven hoeveel punten de verschillende ploegen hebben. Voetbalkrant houdt u op de hoogte van alle ontwikkelingen in de stand van La Liga.

De stand of klassement wordt bepaald door de uitslagen van de wedstrijden in La Liga. Bij een overwinning verdient elke ploeg drie punten. Een gelijkspel levert één punt op en een nederlaag nul punten. De ploeg met de meeste punten staat bovenaan in de rangschikking en de ploeg met de minste punten onderaan. Bij een gelijk aantal punten worden andere criteria gebruikt om te bepalen welke ploeg het hoogst staat, zoals de onderlinge ontmoetingen, het doelpuntensaldo in de onderlinge ontmoetingen, het  algemene doelpuntensaldo, het aantal gemaakte doelpunten en de punten voor de fair-play.

Ploeg bovenaan het eindklassement is kampioen

Het klassement van La Liga 2026-2027 heeft rechtstreekse gevolgen op vlak van wat welke ploeg aan dit voetbalseizoen overhoudt. Wie na 38 speeldagen bovenaan staat in het klassement, is de nieuwe landskampioen. De kampioen plaatst zich samen met de nummers 2, 3 en 4 voor de groepsfase van de Champions League. De nummer 5 gaat naar de groepsfase van de Europa League, net als de winnaar van de Copa del Rey. De nummer 6 speelt de play-offronde voor de Conference League.
