In Italië stonden vanmiddag al vier wedstrijden van de zevende speeldag op het programma. Bologna knalde voorbij Udinese naar een belangrijke overwinning, Mirallas kon vieren met z'n maats bij Fiorentina.
De Belg mocht immers invallen bij een 0-0 stand en enkele minuten later was het bingo voor de thuisploeg. Chiesa ging enorm licht neer in de zestien en de bal ging op de stip. Veretout twijfelde niet en zorgde zo voor de nipte thuiszege tegen Atalanta. Castagne werd na 77 minuten naar de kant gehaald. Biraghi scoorde in de slotminuut zelfs nog de 2-0.
Chiesa kreeg uiteraard kritiek voor deze duik.

In de andere wedstrijden verloor Chievo in eigen huis in het absolute slot. Het team blijft met -1 punt achter na een late goal van Zaza.
