🎥 Praet en Tielemans slikken late tweede seizoensnederlaag in Liverpool, Wesley met doublette bij zegevierend Aston Villa
In de Premier League stond er met Liverpool tegen Leicester City een interessante affiche op het programma.
De Liverpool-machine draait reeds op volle toeren. Ook de achtste wedstrijd van het seizoen werd gewonnen. Kind van de rekening was Leicester, de revelatie van het seizoensbegin in de Premier League. Bij 'The Foxes' stonden zowel Praet als Tielemans in de basis.
Sadio Mané opende de score voor de thuisploeg, zijn 50ste goal in 100 wedstrijden voor The Reds. Maddison maakte tien minuten voor tijd gelijk, maar Liverpool hield alsnog de punten thuis . James Milner trof in de 95ste minuut raak op de stip.

Aston Villa haalde ferm uit tegen Norwicht. De bezoekers legden er vijf in het mandje. Wesley was de grote man en was goed voor twee doelpunten. Voorts geraakte Watford niet verder dan een scoreloos gelijkspel tegen promovendus Sheffield en boekte Burnley een zuinige zege tegen Everton.
