Usain Bolt mocht sinds juli meetrainen bij de Central Coast Mariners in de hoop er een contract te versieren, maar die onderhandelingen sprongen af. Hij heeft nu aangekondigd dat zijn voetbalcarrière erop zit.

De Jamaicaanse meervoudige Olympische kampioen in de sprint speelde twee oefenwedstrijden voor de Australiërs en scoorde twee doelpunten. Toch bleek hij niet echt uit het goede hout gesneden te zijn. Hij gaf vandaag toe dat zijn carrière erop zit. "Het was leuk zolang het duurde", gaf hij mee.
