United in rouw: de man die de 'Class of '92' opgeleid heeft, is niet meer

In Engeland rouwt men om het verlies van Eric Harrison. Hij was jarenlang jeugdtrainer én hoofd jeugdopleiding bij Manchester United, waar hij de befaamde lichting van 1992 voortbracht.

Met Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes, Gary en Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs en David Beckham geldt de 'Class of '92' nog steeds als één van de beste jeugdlichtingen ooit in het mondiale voetbal. Eric Harrison had daar meer dan zijn verdienste aan, geeft ook Alex Ferguson mee. De man overleed op 81-jarige leeftijd omringd door familie.
