Na een stroef begin kwamen de bezoekers op 0-1 via De Tomas, maar dat gaf Barça het teken om een paar versnellingen hoger te schakelen. Piqué, Messi (penalty) en Suárez bogen de scheve situatie nog volledig om tot een verdiende overwinning.

Zo blijft de kloof in de top van La Liga zeven punten. Ook dichtste achtervolger Atlético Madrid won eerder op de dag met 1-0 tegen Leganes.
