Europa League (bis): Malmö legt alles open in poule Genk, invaller Hazard moeizaam voorbij kneusje en Proto moet zware nederlaag incasseren

In de poule van Genk ontving Malmö het Turkse Besiktas. De Zweden waren op de vorige speeldag nog een maatje te klein voor de Limburgers, maar lieten op eigen veld zien dat er toch rekening met hen moet gehouden worden. Erkin en Rosenberg zorgden voor een 2-0 overwinning. Door die zege ligt alles nog op in groep I.  Alle ploegen hebben immers drie punten. 

Moeizame overwinning Chelsea

Chelsea won ondanks 27(!) doelpogingen slechts met het kleinste verschil van Videoton. Het was Alvaro Morata die 'The Blues' verloste. Hazard was invaller. Chelsea leidt in groep L met zes op zes voor PAOK die in Wit-Rusland ging gaan winnen van Bate. 

Spektakel in Rusland

In groep G maakten Spartak Moskou en Villareal er een waar spektakelstuk van. De thuisfans kregen 6 goals te zien, het werd 3-3. Santi Cazorla sleepte in de absolute slotfase van de wedstrijd nog een punt in de brand voor ' de gele onderzeeër' op de penaltystip. 

De grootste verrassing van de avond kwam misschien wel uit Duitsland. Daar kreeg Lazio een pak voor de broek op het veld van Eintracht Frankfurt in groep H. Sevilla ging onderuit in Krasnodar waardoor de Russen worden. Slecht nieuws dus voor Standard in die strijd om de tweede plaats.
