Bij Leicester City stonden Youri Tielemans en Dennis Praet in de basis. Hetzelfde gold voor Leander Dendoncker, die andere ex-speler van Anderlecht, bij Wolves.

Op het kwartier ging de bal op de stip voor Leicester na handspel. Vardy trapte de elfmeter hard in de hoek. Vijf minuten voor rust kreeg Vardy een tweede kans vanop de stip. De Engelse international wilde rechtdoor schieten, maar deze keer had Rui Patricio dat doorzien.

In de tweede helft ging Wolves op zoek naar de gelijkmaker, maar Schmeichel hield met een fantastische redding de nul op het bord. Zo komt Leicester City voorlopig aan de leiding van het klassement in de Premier League, met een knappe 18 op 24.
